LC Message-John 11:57-12:11-Discerning what is right when in front of God
Testimony from Roger, banker from North Carolina. Through sickness (ruptured appendix) he turned to God and God healed him. After that he had a period of time when he moved away from God but he then had other times of returning to God. They became stable at BB&T and a large church. In 2005 he became a part of the Bible study at his company. This became a big help in spiritual growth. It was preparation for who came next in 2007 when his 20 year old youngest son died of an overdose.
This event changed his Life. It was the saddest thing that ever happened to him. His son found God in prison but his son struggled with God being the LORD of his life.
Later he was faced with being angry with everything that happened or trust in God. He chose to trust in God through all of it. He encouraged all of us that we can trust in God even through the most difficult times.
He shared John 15:5 And Ephesians 6:12-13.
His son, Joshua said God may be calling him to be a missionary when he was 13 years old. He was not able to do that but he feels that he is now standing in place of his son.

Roger’s message was really powerful.
There is no middle ground with God. Roger showed us what it is to follow God in the midst of difficulties.
Showed a book about how to buy a Ferrari even if you don’t have evening money. He talks about sacrifices needed to be made in order to get this treasure.
In Jesus time there was a lady that used a very expensive perfume on Jesus. It was a ridiculously expensive thing to do.
1. We don’t care to sacrifice for the things that are truly important to us.
The lady in this scripture passage wanted to give Jesus her greatest treasure.
What are we willing to give to Jesus?
Family? Work? Study?
What is the most loved thing in our life?
God is looking for us to be radical in our commitment to God. He wants to take a foolish leap of faith.
2, Your ultimate priorities will not change.
–To love God
–Some people show their priorities through how they tithe.
3.. Your other priorities will change.
Example of how priorities change when we get married or have children.
4. We don’t have to follow the world’s standards.
Mary did something that was foolish in the eyes of the world.
She didn’t care because Jesus was her priority.
We are challenged to be like Mary and give Jesus our greatest priority, our greatest treasure.
