May 25th Message – John 8:12-20 “I am the Light of the World”:
Children’s Message – Jesus said 7 times “I am …….”
⋆ I am the “Bread of Life”
⋆ I am the “Light of the world”
⋆ I am the “door for the sheep”
⋆ I am the “good Shepherd”
⋆ I am the way, truth, and the life.
⋆ I am the “Resurrection and Life”
⋆ I am “the vine…..”
We want you to know Jesus in all these ways.

Today’s theme is “I am the LIGHT of the world”.
Even if we memorize all these statements and memorize them, it doesn’t matter if we don’t act upon them.
Jesus is a bright light in this very dark world. Do we actually use this light? Does it really make a difference in our lives and the lives of those around us?
In the same way we take in bread and it nourishes our bodies, gives us strength and makes a difference in our lives, the “light of the world” can make a very practical and real difference. If you don’t eat the bread there is no benefit. If you don’t let the light shine it makes no difference. The “light” can give a sense of peace and security (安心感).
What is the level of “light” that you are living now? What is the source of the light in your life? Is it Jesus or something less? Example of the bubble generation in Japan. During that time people thought everything was so bright but in reality the source of that light was the Japanese economy. It didn’t last long.
Double check the source of your life. It should always be Jesus. Jesus is the Light of the World.
John 8:12 I Am the Light of the World – Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
We always need to believe and receive Jesus as the Light of the World.
We are often like someone who keeps the storm doors (雨戸) shut so no light can come in.
Instead of buying more lights to make it brighter, the answer may be to simply open the storm doors (雨戸) and let the real light in.
What is blocking the light of Christ to shine brightly in you and through you?
Remove those doors and let the light in.
