Kids Message: Today is Father’s Day.
What are some of the commands of Jesus? To Love God and Love our Neighbor. When are you suppose to do this? We are to do it now. We are to love today. Father’s Day and Mother’s Day are great opportunities to love.
As you come to church it is a great time to love God and each other. Why do you come to church? To learn how to believe in Jesus? To learn how to really love Jesus. Why do believers come together? To love God together because God commands it.
Every day is Father’s Day with God.

The Jew’s problem — PRIDE — their lifestyles became a life separated from God in their pride.
John 8:39 – You Are of Your Father the Devil They answered him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did,
1. Simply being called a Christian has no meaning on it’s on. It can be the same problem that the Jews had: PRIDE
some people are prideful in the wrong things:
–just because your parents were Christian
–just because you are a member of a “such and such” church
–just because you are a pastor, elder, deacon, or other worker in the church.
Harsh words from Jesus
Mat 7:21-23 – I Never Knew You “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me,
‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
2. Jesus proved that He was a child of God through His actions/lifestyle
John 8:46 – Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?
John 8:55 – But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I keep his word.
The disciples could follow Christ with confidence because Jesus lived what He preached.
J0hn 8:42 – Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me.
John 8:45 – But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.
John 8:51 – Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”
John 8:58 – Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”
Jesus proved His relationship with God over and over again.
In the same way:
John 13:34-35 – A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
We are to love others in the same way Jesus loved us
