Kids Message:
What image do you have of God? When you think of God what do you think,
Some people think God is scary.
Today’s message has someone who was afraid of God. It was the Jewish people around the blind man. They were asking who did a bad thing in order for this man to be blind. They thought if you did a bad thing, bad things would happen to you.
Jesus said that they were wrong. It was neither the man nor his parents that made the man blind. God had a bigger purpose for this man’s life. Through him God would show the love and power of God through Jesus. He was healed by the power and love of God.
The image of God that Jews had was a God of punishment but actually God is a God of love and healing. Jesus showed them this.
Today’s message title: John 9:1-23 “The Fate of Retribution/Reincarnation (Hindu,etc) vs God’s Love”
We are in the arms of God’s Love and can trust Him with everything. It is important for us to understand this fact. Sometimes we think we must have done something bad thus bad things happen to us. That’s the way the Jewish people thought of the blind man.
God does get angry with us BUT He never picks on us. Everything that happens has a great purpose for those that love God and are called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
It comes down to whether we can believe in the Love of God and trust Him. Do we really trust in God and His love for us?
Shindo and Yuko lost their second child. He wondered if it was a punishment but realized it wasn’t a punishment. That took time.
At the end of the day the question is whether we really believe God or not.
