Theme of this month – “Knowing and Seeking the Fruit of the Spirit” 1 Corinthians 14:1-17
Main Passages 1 Corinthians 14:12 Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.
Spirit works in various ways. How does it work in you?

Q. What are the characteristics of a good Christian? To walk in the way planned by God.

John 13:35 “By this all will know that you are My disciple, if you have love for one another.”
—— Love and Faithfulness to Jesus Christ. Be obedient to the Great Commandment – love God and love one another.

Acts 2:46-47 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
—— Love and Faithfulness to one’s Church. Take part in building the church.

1 Thessalonians 2:8 So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.

➀ Know where God gives the gifts of the Spirits
1 Corinthians 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
Gifts are given to the church. Gifts should be used to build the church

➁ Know why God gives the church the fruit of the Spirit
1 Corinthians 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
God gives the gifts to the believers to edify the church. Gifts are given to us by God not only for our own purposes but to serve in the community – the church.

➂ Start serving your church before seeking the gift of the Spirit
1 Corinthians 14:12 “So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church.”

It is good and necessary that we grow spiritually, however, we should not end there. We need to understand why we are given gifts and use them to serve and build the church.
