2018.01.14 James 1:19-27 “Obtaining proactive walk in Christ.”

Joshua 24:15 But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.

Because of God’s love, he gave his beloved Son to be put to death for our sins.

・“Faith” is proactive determination, resolution and decision.

・“Love” is also proactive determination, resolution and decision.

・Consequently, both “faith” and “love” are not strictly affected by “emotion,” feeling,” or “atmosphere” from time to time.

・In other words, it can be said that “faith” and “love” are what you yourself should decide.

・Then, the idea of “whether you can believe or not” or “whether you can love or not” would not make sense.

・The important thing is to “decide yourself.”

John 4;42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

➀ Decide to humbly accept the word.

James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

➁ Decide to spend life centered on the word.

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

➂ Decide to practice the word.

James 1:26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

James 1:27 Religion that God our Gather accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
