2017.12.24 Galatians 1:1-5 Rediscovering the Joy of our Faith

➀ Be aware that we are living in the world of sins and devils

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

Have we though how we feel inside?

・Can honestly say we’re happy

・Can feel peace at heart

・Emotionally stable

・Love ourselves

・Filled with gratitude

What do we have?

・discontent, dissatisfaction

・worry, fear

・anger, sadness

・sense of being victimized

・guilty feeling

・sense of emptiness

Aren’t we fooling ourselves that we don’t have such feelings as discontent, dissatisfaction, worry, fear, anger, sadness, victim mentality, sense of guilt or futility, however, it is surprisingly difficult to gain a feeling of peace.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless.

➁ What we need is selfless love

1 John 4:18-19 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 19 We love because he first loved us.

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, to the will of our God and Father,

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:9-10 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
