2017.8.13 Acts 2:40-47 “Getting together in the name of the Lord”
God enjoys our worship, we find joy in God’s happiness.
1. Cherish “Getting together in the name of the Lord.”

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
2. Satan dislikes us “Getting together in the name of the Lord.”
Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
3. Share the joy in unity having the purpose of “Getting together in the name of the Lord.”
Matthew 18:19 Again, I tell you that if t wo of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
・Get together to “fulfill the will of God” instead of “satisfying our own needs.”
・Be glad for being able to adjust our schedule to get together.
・Be fully aware that Jesus is always at the center of the gathering.
・Believe and rejoice that Jesus always received us with open arms.
What it means of “Getting together in the name of the Lord.”

➀ Be aware of Jesus’ presence.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. the breaking of bread = Remembering Him (being conscious of His presence)

➁ Listen to His Words

➂ Have fellowships with brothers and sisters in the Lord
Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. It is Christ who binds us together.

➃ Pray in the name of the Lord
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Matthew 18:19 Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

➄ Practice them at small groups
Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Get together in the name of the Lord with Jesus in the center to realize the will of God.
