2018.04.15 2Timothy 3:12-4:5 “Let’s study the Bible together!”
Bible is about what God wants to do and what God wants us to do. If we read the Bible based on our needs alone, we could miss the real meaning.
➀ Keep listening to “sound doctrine.”
2 Timothy4:3-4 3For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
Do not skip the portion just because we don’t want to hear.
A Listening to the words that sound hard to follow.
For example
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
“Sound doctrine” may not always be pleasant to listen to, however, would tend to be important.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for you souls.
Matthew 6:24 “No one can be a slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot be slave of God and of money.
Paul’s message is to build the body of Christ – a church – instead of personal satisfaction.
B Admit and accept your immaturity with humility.
1 Peter 2:2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
Matthew 23:3 therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them.
Ephesians 4:2 with humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
★ When you lose humility, you do not want to listen to “what you have been unable to achieve.”
★ When you lose humility, your sinfulness makes you look ugly and miserable.

Matthew 13:18-23 21yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22”And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23”And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”
