2018.5.6 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 “Lets put the Biblical teaching into practice together!”

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

The goal of studying the Bible (discipleship) is to be like Jesus.
Matthew 10:24 24 “A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master.

What does it mean “to be like Jesus”?
John 13:34-35 34 ”A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Philippians 2:1-5 1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

“to be like Jesus”

・love your neighbors

In order to confirm your maturity in your faith and Bible study, check your practice of “love” within your family – spouse, parents, brothers and sisters – and your brothers and sisters at church.

➀ Practicing what you have learned from the Bible means practicing the love of Christ.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is king and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
