20.09.30 John 17:20-26 “In order to strive for love of God.”

Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the price of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

[August 26th:] Experiencing God in loving each other.

1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

➀ Respecting Jesus’ desire (prayer)

John 17:20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,

Jesus’ prayer is:

A）for us to be one

John 17:21 that all of them may be one. Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

John 17:22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:

John17:23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Jesus’ prayer is:

A）for us to be one

・ Are the wishes of Jesus and ours in unity?

・ Do you seriously take the eager wish of Jesus that Church (family) be one in the Lord.

・worries behind Jesus

Luke 22:24 Also a dispute arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest.

B）that we be with Jesus

John 17:24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

C）that we see the glory of Jesus

・ the essence of glory is “the love of Father and Son”

to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. (17:24)

What happens when we see the glory of Jesus?

・love of heavenly Father and Son in unity

・love of Son and disciples (apostles) in unity

・love of heavenly Father and disciples (apostles) in unity

・love disciples with one another in unity

・the world will know the love of the Father in heaven

・the world will believe Jesus
