2018.11.11 2 Samuel 22:1-7 Making Lord’s day the most enjoyable day of the week.
When do you call on your loving pet?
・ when he has done something clever?
・ when he approaches you?
・ when he so cute?
↓
We call on our pets as because we enjoy their presence. Then how about with God?
➀ Enjoying talking to God in response to what He has done.
2 Samuel 22:1 David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
▶ Name what He has done to lead you, comfort you, and support you.
▶ Is there any thing that you took for granted among his work?
What do you say and how do you approach your loving pet?
You might use words like “cute,” “good boy,” “sweet,” “I love you,” but do you add any words of gratitude like “thank you?”
How do you respond to the work of God orally?
➁ Find joy in praising God with natural expressions.
2 Samuel 22;2-4 2 He said; “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; 3 my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior – from violent men you save me. 4 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.
David’s words of praises
・ my rock, my fortress and my deliverer
・ my rock, in whom I take refuge
・ my shield and the horn of my salvation
・ my stronghold, and my savior from violent men
・ my refuge
・ “Rock, fortress, rock to take refuge in, shield, horn of salvation, stronghold, and refuge” keeps away and protects David from his enemies who were trying to kill him.
・ They are not words of someone who were in crisis, nor words to express God’s idea.
・ They were just normal words coming out from David.
Praise God in your own words
・ Make the words of psalm your own words.
・ Make the songs of hymnals your own words.
・ Use natural words in daily prayers as if talking to a person right in front of you.
➂ Making the words of praise into songs.
2 Samuel 22:1 David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
Psalms 92:1-4 A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
1 It is good to praise the LORD
and make music to your name, O Most High,
2 to proclaim your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
4 For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD;
I sing for joy at the works of your hand.
