2017.3.5 John 16: 25-33 “Believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God”

John 20:31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

➀　 “Faith” = “To Love Christ”

To believe means to love Christ and grasp the hand stretched out by Christ.

John 16:27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

・ The reason why God holds the relationship of love with us is because we love Jesus Christ.

・ The reason why God holds the relationship of love with us is because we have believed Jesus Christ came from God.

・ “Growth of Faith” = Relationships of Love in Christ and God to become strong.

・ “Discipleship” = Learning and training to strengthen the relationships of love and trust in Jesus and the Father in heaven.

・ “Worship” = Expression of our love, gratitude and joy to Jesus Christ and the Father in heaven.

The more we get to know Jesus (and God – the Father in heaven), our love becomes stronger. And if we love God, then we will want to love each other.

➁　Check genuineness of your faith over and over.

John 16:31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?”

There is a need to regularly check our relationship of faith in Jesus.

➂　Being equipped so that you could maintain your faith (love, trust) in Christ.

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

・ “Peace” = Does not mean “Comfort”

・ Able to have “Peace” even at times of trouble.

・ “Peace” comes from love and trust in Christ and God.

There is no “Peace” without “Love”.
